About Us
Fancy Plants Farmstead is made up of two sister-in-laws who love to grow flowers and herbs naturally in a way that benefits the soil. Leslie Cash and Sarah Shuman have been gardening together and growing in their knowledge for years now and they wanted to start this business together. The family jokingly called Sarah “fancy plants” because of the meticulous way she grows food and starts her seeds. Soon after, Fancy Plants Farmstead was born.
Farmstead (noun): A mix between a farm and a homestead. Usually a larger scale area that grows food to sell and some home made goods made from animals or crops.
Leslie and Sarah love to grow food and flowers and they believe in the importance of keeping your food and flower sources local. They wanted to share with others how to source local food and flowers plus teach others how they can also grow their own food. The garden is a place of peace and refuge for both of them, you will often find them lost out in the garden somewhere planning their next garden plot.
